“It’s Not a Big Deal” and “I’ve Messed Up Too Much”: The Truth About God’s Grace and Your Role

In today's blog we continue talking about the 8 most common reasons parents don't disciple their children. Lets dive back in!

Objection 7: “It’s Not a Big Deal if I’m Not Intentional—God’s Grace Will Cover It”

Yes, God’s grace is abundant. But grace isn’t a reason to be passive—it’s a reason to be purposeful. Your influence on your child’s faith is constant, whether intentional or not.

Modeling faith during the hard moments—when you’re stressed, tired, or frustrated—shows your kids what real trust in God looks like.

Objection 8: “I’ve Messed Up Too Much to Lead Spiritually”

Parenting mistakes don’t disqualify you. In fact, openly confessing wrongs, asking for forgiveness, and moving forward can deepen your child’s understanding of grace.

Your children don’t need a perfect parent; they need a present one. The call to disciple your kids is not conditional on your past—it’s God’s design for your home today.

Bottom Line:

God can use you right where you are. Start small, stay consistent, and watch how He transforms your family through simple acts of obedience.
